Sorrry for the short notice...I just received it today. We sure could use a nice aquatics facility.

If youve ever thought "I wish we had a nice aquatics center like ....." Now is your time to be heard with the City of Tyler. There is to be a final meeting of community input regarding the 10 year plan for the City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Dept. I attended the meeting last night, Mon Feb 1st, at Jack Elementary to get a feel for what this is about. Here is what I discovered.
The City has contracted an outside entity, MHS, to gather input and make recommendations to them regarding the wants and needs of the community. This is our chance to ensure that an aquatics facility is the number one request. The turn out at the meeting was quite small, everyone had their chance to say what they wanted and they were interested and recorded everyones input. I want to see a huge turn out from this team. This is our chance to be heard in an overwhelming force as to our desires for this city to build an aquatics center to fit the needs of this community. Note: bring your swimmers! They were particularly interested in the inputs of the younger attendees.
I understand that everyone is busy and this is short notice but I can assure you that this is where we need to be concentrating our voices. Find a way to get to this meeting with as many people as you can bring.
The meeting is taking place Tuesday Feb 2nd at 6:30 PM in the UT Tyler Library. If you cannot attend please fill out the online survey at http://www.cityoftyler.org/Default.aspx?tabid=96.
